We are Kevin and Ard and originally come from the Netherlands. For many years, we lived and worked in Enschede, always in environments where hospitality, people and personal contact played an important role.

Kevin has many years of experience in hospitality, hotels, restaurants and the world of events. After working in both hotels and gastronomy, he spent many years managing guest services at a large theatre and music centre in Enschede. Welcoming guests, creating the right atmosphere and making people feel comfortable has therefore always been part of his everyday life.

Ard also spent many years working in hospitality and gastronomy. Among other places, he worked at Café Coberco in Enschede, where he gained extensive experience in service, direct guest contact and the lively atmosphere of a hospitality business.

Over the years, our shared wish to create something of our own became stronger: a place where we could bring together our own ideas of hospitality, tranquillity, personality and quality.

For us, Ruhpolding was never simply a new place to live. We fell in love with the Chiemgau Alps, the landscape, Bavarian way of life and the special atmosphere of the village. What began as an idea gradually became a plan – and eventually a completely new chapter in our lives.

Since September 2026, we have had the pleasure of running Forsthaus Ruhpolding. We left behind our familiar life in the Netherlands to live and work here in Bavaria and to build something new together.

With personal attention, a relaxed atmosphere and our genuine enthusiasm for Ruhpolding, we hope to create a place our guests remember fondly – and perhaps one they will want to return to.
